Guild Crafting, Beta - Available Now!

Commanders,

Today marks another of our milestones at Guild of Guardians, as we are incredibly excited to announce the beta release of Crafting. Between Dec 11 - Dec 25, players will have the chance to earn crafting materials through Guild Boss Battles and other modes, craft various items within their Guilds, and trade crafted items on the secondary market.

Note that after the beta concludes, all Crafting functions will be turned off.

  • Essence Boxes that have been crafted remain tradable in the secondary market
  • Guild Leaders can still access the Portal to distribute rewards from their Essence Box sales
  • Potions will be unusable, though will remain in your inventory

A reminder that this is a beta event, and that features and functions are subject to balance updates prior to launch.

What to expect

For Crafting, the easiest way to understand the feature is to first identify your role; are you a Guild Leader, or a Guild Member?

Wait - what if you aren’t either? Then it’s time you become a Guild Member. Open GOG and on the home screen, select “Guild”. You’ll be presented with a range of Guilds, where you can apply to become a member. Once you have submitted your application (a simple click of a button), wait for the Guild Leader to accept. After acceptance, you’ll be able to click into “Guild” and enter your Guilds home screen!

TIP! Need to find a Guild in our Discord? We have 2 channels where new members can interact with players from existing guilds and find their new home!

  • #looking-for-members
  • #looking-for-guild

Once you've joined a guild, you can also start chatting with your Guild Members in-chat. More on that at the end of the article!

For Guild Leaders, you are able to:

  • Upgrade your Guild Power to unlock Crafting
  • Choose which Essence Box your Guild wishes to specialise in
  • Craft Essence Boxes
  • Mint Essence Boxes
  • Consume Essence Boxes
  • Trade Essence Boxes
  • Distribute royalties from trades to Guild Members
  • Access all crafting functions that Guild Members have access to

For Guild Members, you are able to:

  • Contribute materials to your Guild’s Essence Box whilst being crafted
  • Receive royalties from your Guild Leaders if and when Essence Boxes are sold
  • Purchase Essence Boxes from the secondary market
  • Consume Essence Boxes
  • Craft Potions

Whether it’s during, or after the beta, we ask that all players who have played with Crafting to submit their feedback using the form below. Your feedback will help drive the design and balance of Crafting, and push it one step further towards the official launch.

We want to hear from you! https://forms.gle/yhxhcKPvzF7cNpeJ6

Playing as a Guild Leader

Upgrade your Guild Power to unlock Crafting

Before you can start crafting Essence Boxes on behalf of the Guild, you’ll need to unlock this skill in your Guild Power.

Head on over to your Guild home page, and click on the ‘Power’ icon in the lower left navigation menu. You’ll then be shown the available options to upgrade your guild.

Choose which Essence Box your Guild wishes to specialize in

On the right navigation bar, choose the Craft icon (bottom). At this point, you have a choice to make - which Essence Box do I want my Guild to specialise in? Note, Guilds are only able to specialise in production of 1 type of Essence Box at a time, so it is important to strategise here.

There are 3 choices - Crimson, Azure, and Amber.

Once you have decided, select the corresponding Essence Box name on the tree, and upgrade your Guild Power. Guilds that specialise will face constraints on their ability to respec their Guilds (i.e. there will be a cost associated with it).  For beta, Guild Leaders are afforded 1 free respec and are  able to change their Guild’s specialisation, once every 72 hours. As you advance your Guild Skill tree you will unlock additional perks that can increase your odds of making higher-quality crafts, reduce the crafting time, reduce donation costs.

Learn about Essence Boxes

In each Essence Box, players will find Refined Essences - which are the materials required for the crafting of Potions. The higher the rarity of your Essence Box, the higher the likelihood you receive rarer Refined Essences.

Want to learn more about Potions? Scroll down further below, and you'll see a couple of sections about Potions.

Craft Essence Boxes

Now that you’ve selected the type of Essence Box you want your Guild to craft, let’s get ‘crafty’. Click back into ‘Craft’ and you’ll be presented with the option to craft your Essence Box.

On the right menu, a “Craft” button can be clicked once you have the necessary materials.

Crafting page screen from Guild Leader's perspective

If you don’t have the materials, head back out to defeat the Dread via Guild Bosses. This is where you will farm all the required materials to craft Essence Boxes (Monster Souls).

Once you have sufficient materials, head back into “Craft”, and click on “Craft’. Each Essence Box takes 95 hours to completion, however you are able to contribute ‘Monster Souls’ to speed up the process.

While waiting for the craft to finish, your Guild Members can donate Unity Power to the Essence Box. Unity Power is acquired and held by individual members through Guild Boss, Guilds Quests and Artifact Treasure.

The purpose for donations is to increase the rarity of the Essence Box; the more Unity Power donated, the higher the level of the craft, which in turn increases the likelihood that the finished Essence Box becomes an Epic or Legendary.

You can see the probability of your Essence Box’s quality in the top right corner.

Mint Essence Boxes

Once the crafting time has concluded, your Essence Box is now ready to be minted! You have 7 days from the time of completion to mint your Essence Box into an NFT, should you decide not to do so within this timeframe, your Essence Box will destabilise and automatically be destroyed.

To mint your Essence Box, you will need Ascension Seals. For the beta, we are offering an exclusive deduction on the amount of Ascension Seals required. ZERO!

That’s right. For the beta, Guild Leaders need not consume any Ascension Seals when minting their Essence Box. To do so, simply open your Guild Inventory to find your Essence Box, click on the icon, and on the bottom left you’ll see the ‘Mint’ button.

During the beta, simply press ‘Confirm’, and that’s it! Wait a few seconds and your Essence Box becomes an NFT!

Consume Essence Boxes

Once an Essence Box is minted into an NFT, Guild Leaders (and other players) have a choice to consume them, transfer them, or trade them on the secondary market. Essence Boxes are a one-time consumption item, once consumed they disappear forever (NFT is burned).

Below shows the type of Refined Essences players can expect from consuming their Essence Boxes.

Trade Essence Boxes

Once your Essence Box is minted, a Guild Leader has a choice to trade, send, or consume the box. Essence Boxes can be listed on TokenTrove (or other marketplace trading on Immutable’s global order book) and sold to other players, or like any other on-chain assets, can be sent to another wallet of your choice.

If the Guild Leader decides to sell the Essence Box, then the proceeds of the sale will be stored in a special smart contract awaiting for distribution. Guild Leaders will receive guaranteed first cut of the sale proceeds with the amount depending on the type of Guild Token that Guild Leader owns

In the Guild Crafting Menu players can tap on the “records” UX element to show the history of Essence Boxes Crafted by the Guild, this screen will also show the status of the Essence Box NFT (minted, burned, sold, transferred) along with the time of the craft and the price it was sold for.

Depending on your Guild Type, Guild Leaders will receive varying royalties from Essence Box trades.

  • Adventurers Guild = 1%
  • Warriors Guild = 2.5%
  • Legends Guild = 5%
  • Mythic Guild = 10%

Distribute Proceeds from trades to Guild Members

As a Guild Leader and holder of the Guild Token, you exclusively have the responsibility  to distribute royalties to contributors towards your Essence Box. This responsibility cannot be delegated away to VPs. We will record the pro-rata proportion of Unity Power that Guild Members have contributed to the craft and calculate the pro-rata distribution of proceeds (post Guild Leaders cut & IMX royalty fee) and present this as the recommended distribution for Guild Leaders to their Guild Members. Whilst there is a recommended distribution percentage, Guild Leaders are free to alter this distribution as they see fit.

To distribute, visit the Guild portal here: https://app.guildofguardians.com/guild-portal/menu

Guild Portal home page, accessible only by Guild Leaders

Once in, you can put into the fields the value your Essence Box(es) sold for, and the amount to distribute to each Guild Member who donated towards that box. You will also be able to produce records of the previous history of crafting & distributions that you may share with your Guilds Members.

Playing as a Guild Member

Contribute materials to your Guild’s Essence Box whilst being crafted

Crafting, how can Guild Members help? By farming Monster Souls for the Guild’s coffers and donating Unity Power! Monster Souls is a resource obtained from defeating Guild Bosses. Unity Power is a resource obtained for Guild Quests, Guild Boss, and Artifact Treasures. Monster Souls are automatically earned for the Guild, while Unity Power is held in the player's own inventory. Members must choose to donate towards their Guild’s Essence Box. The more Unity Power that is donated, the higher the level of the Essence Box, the higher the probability it becomes an Epic or Legendary box.

Where can you acquire Unity Power? In Guild Boss, Guilds Quests and Artifact Treasure!

Receive royalties from your Guild Leaders if and when Essence Boxes are sold

Your Guild Leader has decided to sell the Essence Box? Did you contribute to the Essence Box? If you answered Yes to both questions, then you might be eligible for royalties!

Note, this is all determined and set by you Guild Leaders. We will provide a calculation of the pro-rata distribution according to the player’s Unity Power donation. However the final choice for what is actually distribution    is at the discretion of your Guild Leaders

Purchase Essence Boxes from the secondary market

Want to purchase an own (or consume) Essence Boxes? Head on over to TokenTrove to find all Essence Boxes listed for sale.

Consume Essence Boxes for Refined Essences

Once you have an Essence Box, you can consume it and Refined Essences will be added to your inventory. Remember, Essence Boxes are one-time consumption. For a full breakdown of what each Essence Box provides, see below

Once an Essence Box is consumed, Refined Essences are sent to your mail, and need to be claimed.

Craft Potions

Potions are one-time consumables that grant effects to your gameplay. Some potions grant effects that are specific to a game mode, other for other features like Crafting.  Players will only be able to have one active “battle” potion at a time. Players are able to use the three Inventory potions simultaneously (but their individual effects are not cumulative)

For Rare potions, effects are relatively mild, and Guilds are able to self-supply their Members with the Essence Boxes required to make these potions. However, for Epic and Legendary Potions which are much more powerful, players will need to engage in trade with other Guilds in order to obtain the necessary materials to craft these potions.

To get started, go to your home screen and navigate the "Potion" icon on the left side.

You'll be presented with the available Potions to craft. See table below for crafting recipes.

Simply add Refined Essences to your Potion, with the rarer the Refined Essences, the higher the likelihood your Potion has a higher rarity. Refer to the percentage bar at underneath the Potion for the rarity probability.

Some Potions are used in-battle, whilst others grant effects to your inventory. See the table below, and in-game screenshots.

Potions offer unique benefits, and can open up new modes of play and strategy. They can help Guilds help new recruits to catch-up or turn the tides of an all-critical Boss battle. They can play crafty tricks on players in the game’s Arena modes, or help speed crafting capacity. We are excited to further develop this system towards our vision of a player-driven and owned economy.
