Leaderboard Rewards: The Path Ahead

Your participation in the first Global Launch Leaderboard Event was incredible, and the GOG team truly appreciates your support.
These past five weeks have been an exciting learning experience. We've gained valuable insights that will help us improve the GOG ecosystem for everyone.

Here's what we learned and how we're moving forward:

Making $GOG Rewards Shine:

We're working to ensure $GOG utility and liquidity are strong, so your leaderboard rewards stay valuable. We'll be holding a Tokenomics AMA on June 28th, 9 AM AEST, to discuss this in detail with the community.

Simplifying Leaderboards:

We understand that separate in-game and global leaderboards can be confusing. We're streamlining the system to make it easier for new players to navigate. While some rewards require out-of-app distribution for compliance reasons, we'll strive to keep most rewards within the game.

Stability is Key:

We acknowledge that rapid changes can disrupt the leaderboard and playing experience. In the future, bug fixes and maintenance will be scheduled during designated breaks between weekly leaderboards.

Celebrating Fair Play:

The vast majority of players who earned $GOG during the Launch event did so through honest gameplay. Our anti-cheat software flagged less than 1% of players, and investigations confirmed even fewer cases of multi-accounting or botting, less than 0.1%.

The Path Ahead for Leaderboard Rewards

Over the next two weeks, we'll be making significant improvements to the in-game leaderboard system. These changes, which will be fully implemented and tested by July 3rd, will establish the in-game leaderboard as the central source for all leaderboard rewards. We'll keep you updated on these changes and invite your feedback as we move forward.

We're working towards a future where most reward information and distribution will be accessible and streamlined within the game. Here's a breakdown of what to expect in the future:

• Reward Information: Details about upcoming leaderboard rewards, including eligibility requirements and reward amounts, will be easily accessible within the game.
• Distribution: Once you've earned a reward, there will be a 4-days verification period. After this period, if your result is confirmed as legitimate, it will be automatically distributed to your in-game account. We'll keep you informed about the specific verification period as the system evolves.

We understand that some limitations may exist, but we're committed to making the system as clear and efficient as possible.

In the meantime, for the period of June 19th to July 3rd, $GOG rewards will be based on Monthly Global Leaderboards.
